Labor Day!
It's Labor Day! A celebration of the American Worker! Dad gave me a long lecture today about the value of hard work and the appreciation of anyone and everyone who is willing to contribute to our great country. He said some stuff about us being lucky 'cause we have good health care, good wages and security in our finances. But, he also said that others in the United States don't have all this stuff - little kids like me even! So, he said, Labor Day is more than a celebration - it's a reminder of what American's deserve in the wealthiest country in the world.
My dad says that Labor Day is pretty much an important day for union families, but that since a whole lot of people get the day off, the corporate management millionare thugs ought to come out and cook hot dogs for little kids like me. And, also, they should have to drink the poopy water they are contaminating. But, I think my dad was just getting a bit worked up about the Wal-Mart hearing scheduled for Thursday here in town. He says that they are greedy, careless, good-for-nothin', anti-worker corporate dumb-dumbs who should eat my diapers. I'm taking his word for it.
So, I'll soak all that in for a few years...maybe the President and the Grinch who is his V.P. ought to do the same.
Speaking of Curious George, today Curious George premiered on the local PBS station! It comes on at 7:00 am, so I am determined to wake my mom and dad up every weekday for that! Thanks Labor Day!
I participated in my first parade today! The 2006 Labor Day parade in Springfield! We helped out my dad's co-worker Dave Kamper who is running for County Board. He is working hard, and I'm hoping that he wins so that I can get a better track record on candidates / campaigns than my dad (he doesn't win a lot of them).
Of course I needed to rest up for the parade, so I started out sleepy. I guess I ended the parade that way.

Won't your father be mad when you join me in the dark side as a True Christain Conservative Republican. That liberal indoctrination will backfire on him.
