Holy Pie Topping Batman! The Whole City, Covered in Kool Whip!

I knew it... I could sense it... I was TOTALLY OBVIOUS... And I mean MORE OBVIOUS than the "evidence" of that Saddam who worked with that Ben Lawdon!
CLUE#1: Tuesday, 65 degress.
CLUE #2: Gus Gordon, our weatherman, started really freaking out on Wednesday like moreso than that Tom Skilling dude in Chicago usually does.
CLUE #3: My folks are putting thicker clothes on me...and wraping the felt of dead Muppets around my head.
CLUE #4: Dad picked me up at daycare at 3:45 on Thursday and promptly went to ACE (he shops there for his Dad stuff because it's neighborly and more expensive than Wal-Mart - - who are evil, he says) where he bought a snowblower!
It was sooooo obvious. The first snow of Winter 2006/07 is an ice storm with about 10 inches of snow! FRIDAY WAS MY FIRST SNOW DAY!!!

Friday morning, at about 4:15 am, I started yelling at my Mom and Dad. "Wake up, there's Kool Whip all over the yard and on the trees!!!!" Mom said it wasn't Kool Whip and, instead was like that Hawaiian Ice Man that had a stand in the bowling alley parking lot this summer.

Either way, they clearly didn't find it to be such a big deal. But, Dad did watch the top of the evergreen tree in the back yard clip the powerline, repeatedly spark, catch fire, and then burn off at 4:40 am. No need for City Water Light and Power to get off their duffs and trim the foliage back from the power lines now.

And so we awoke. Daycare called first...no school. Then dad's work...no need to come in, they said. Dad says it's fine, cause he "don't do nuthin' but sleep in his office anyway." Mom, on the other hand, works for the state. They don't close if everybody else does. See, a lot of people work there and they have little kids like me. So, if little kids don't have school, the state figures nobody will be at work anyway, so just let them burn a vacation day or something. Dad says he knows how it works... a way to ensure that after 20-30 years, and thousands of employees, the state gets to save millions of dollars and give it to the needy or something...

Anyway, Dad immediately got to work on the snow. He used his new toy on our driveway, Elenor's (she lives across the street), Glenn and Paula's (next door), Brett and Heather's (two doors down), Grampa Dow's and his neighbor's... he was mighty busy.

By the way, here's that dead Muppet on my head...

It's been an adventuous extended weekend so far. Some folks don't have power. So, I hope they are coping well. If you lost power in the storm and it hasn't been restored yet, it's really unlikely that you are even reading this... We hope things get a bit back to normal for you soon!

Oh yeah, and NO I didn't get punkin' pie! I got a taste of gravy (?), Kool Whip (which is awesome) and a sour apple popsicle (that turned my tounge green). I was too full for punkin' pie. But, I was good and did get my rewards.

There's so much more to tell you. But, in the meantime, be careful out there and always put a buck or so in that little red bucket this time a year...it goes to help little kids like me who don't have all of the good stuff we got. Remember, you can't take it with ya anyway. And, if you could, who knows what the exchange rate would be!?!?
